Rare 19th C. Nantucket Lightship Covered Basket. Attributed to Captain Charles B. Ray (1798 - 1884). Covered baskets were often used as handbags on special occasions and are quite scarce. Dark patina, lid rim shows some shrinkage, otherwise great overall condition. Measures 10" diameter by 7-1/2" tall.
