Choice antique scrimshaw FIST cane

Superb antique American scrimshaw cane with a large carved whale ivory CLENCHED FIST circa 1850. The large fist is handsomely carved with excellent details. The paneled shaft is PALM wood and brass ferrule appears to be original. Silver pinned. Very good condition with typical wear patterns to shaft. Size: 33.5 inches long. This cane and the following very similar buggy whip came from the same family and most likely by the same hand, which would make the pair rather unique. SOLD
