A rare and choice antique sea captain's "bottle chest". Northern European origin circa 1780. Fitted with six large gilded bottles and six smalled gilded bottles. Also (often missing) a removable center tray with two stemmed glasses, a tumbler and a rare small handled cup. The fitted box is constructed of oak with heavy strapping and original wrought iron handles. Very good condition with breaks to one of the glasses, some minor chips, a couple cracks, and the locking area shows tammpering. Size: 9 x 14.5, and 10 inches tall.
