A terrific antique scrimshaw tooth was auctioned off on May 22 at Sotheby's NYC and though I never personally examined the tooth it appeared to be a winner and it sure was - bringing $32,000. It was initialed JB and had a large patriotic American Eagle in black with red highlights. Quite a piece. Any suggestions as to maker and other examples by this engraver??
