Unusual Scrimshaw Whale Stand

Unusual antique "scrimshaw" stand constructed of pine, ivory, ebony and celluloid. Not quite sure its use but suggest that it is a display stand. Ex museum numbers on reverse. Good condition with minor retouch and repairs. Size: 12.75 x 9.5 inches.
