Antique Oval Nantucket Basket

Antique Nantucket oval swing handled basket, circa 1870. A small open oval cane woven basket with canted rattan staves, carved swing handle with slight lozenge ends mounted on rectangular wooden ears extending down a quarter stave length, hardwood bottom, unsigned. Exceptionally rare and attractive style of deeply flared sides makes this one well above the average. Great condition, quality, and color. Measures 3" x 8-1/8" x 5-¾"
