Vintage Nantucket Lightship Basket Purse by Stephen Gibbs (1896-1974). 7-1/4" oval size is just a bit bigger than a "cocktail" size basket yet enough room to hold the largest iPhone; I think it's the perfect size! Carved Seagull ornament, knobs, and clasp / peg. Gibbs' baskets are the best built baskets from the golden age of purse-making and this one is no exception.
