Antique Scrimshaw Whalebone Busk with Vignettes

An exceptional antique whalebone (corset) busk with scrimshaw vignettes. Contains eight scenes of whaling, domestic life, mythical, and patriotic motifs. Further decorated with a heart and vines. Likely done by a British whaler circa 1840. Measures 13-3/4" x 1-7/8".
