A rare antique Lewis Temple Type whaling harpoon made by Lewis Russell of New Bedford MA circa 1849 to 1865. "L.R." stamped on flue barb. Has original black paint. Includes a provenance to Captain John Dexter of Rochester MA. He was first mate of the of the whaling bark Pacific and and captain of the Dexter. Measures 37-1/2" long.
