Purchased at the Barbara Johnson Collection sale at Sotheby's 9/25/1982, Session 3, Lot 363 for $3,850. An outbound journal containing 40 pages of handwritten entries with many whale stamps, flags, anchors, a flogged man's hand in the rigging, islands, ships, whaleboat, and a full page watercolor harborview of St. Helenas. Later rebound with title on edge and embossed with Barbara Johnson Library seal. Fair condition, some losses and loose pages. Measures 13" by 8".
