Rare and choice antique scrimshaw PIE CRIMPER

Extraordinary mid-19th century scrimshaw pie crimper with a very unusual mechanical feature. This lovely example is constructed entirely out of whale tooth ivory. The wheel is a remarkably delicate "star" radiating from a silver rivet in the center. The remarkable design about this crimper is the retractable ivory utensil contained within the handle!
