Rare antique scrimshaw SHIP PUZZLE BOX

Rare and choice antique American scrimshaw carved whale ivory puzzle box in the form of a whale ship's hull. The cover (deck) is engraved with a full figure Scot's man. Inside the moveable cover is engraved "Hugh Nairne, fecit Newport R.I. 1847". Also engraved is the name "Green Walden". Good condition with old repair and the "trick" part worn. Size: 4.5 inches long. SOLD
