Antique Scrimshaw Swift

Antique scrimshaw whalebone double swift with wonderful whalebone base. Features a whale ivory yarn cup at top. Swifts were the most complicated object a 19th C. whaler could construct and often was a collaborative effort. Measures 20-1/2" high with a 5-3/4" diameter base. American circa 1850.
