Rare and choice Nantucket Lightship basket dated 1871

A rare and choice antique Nantucket Lightship Basket in perfect condition. Great details - extended wooden hinge, rattan ribs, and slender handle. Written ink on handle "CGC GCG 1871" From an old Nantucket family. Rich dark patina with turned mahogany bottom board. Size: 8 inch diameter, 5.5 height to rim and 10 inches to top of handle.
