M/V Naushon Interior egg tempera painting on board by Nantucket artist John Austin (1918-2001). Depicts an interior view of the Steamship Authority M/V Naushon. The Naushon served the Cape, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket with daily passenger and automobile service until 1987. If you ever crossed the sound in this vessel, seeing this painting will remind you of the heavy gloss paint, vinyl seats, diesel smell, and rumble of the ship.
