Antique Sailor Carved Whimsey with Coconut Dipper

An unusual 19th C. sailor carved coconut water dipper with attached whimsey. The chain is carved from a single piece of tropical wood featuring 29 links ending in a barbed terminal. Water dipper bowl and handle feature elaborate geometric designs. Great original condition and patina. Dipper measures 14-1/2" long and whimsey chain measures 54" long.
