Rare Vintage Nantucket Basket Purse by José Formoso Reyes

Vintage Nantucket Basket purse by José Formoso Reyes (1902-1980) circa 1955. A rare basket that was made without a mold as evident by the wide rectangular base - these are always cherished by knowledgeable collectors. Features three flowers atop a mahogany plaque and an oak formed and carved swing handle. Hinges and clasp professionally repaired, great condition with a rich & dark patina. Measures 9-1/4" wide by 6-1/4" tall by 7-1/2" deep.
