Vintage Michael Kane Nantucket Basket Purse 1974

A very fine quality Nantucket Basket Purse signed and dated Michael Kane 1974. Made on a 8" by 6" oval mold with oak staves and rattan weavers. Features a three whale carved ivory and bone plaque, knobs, and peg. Also has one of the earliest examples of an ivory band atop the oak handle. This could serve as the perfect spot for the next owners name. 

Hinges recently repaired, otherwise great condition with a wonderful patina. Measures 9-1/2" wide by 7-1/4" high by 7" deep.
