Vintage Nantucket Basket Purse by José Formoso Reyes 1969

Nantucket basket purse by José Formoso Reyes (1902-1980) signed and dated 1969. Made from a 8" by 6" oval mold and measures 10" wide overall. Features a carved sperm whale ornament atop a mahogany plaque. Signature oak formed and carved swing handle. One hinge and clasp professionally repaired, otherwise great condition with a rich patina. Note: Owners name digitally removed from interior quarterboard.
